Upcoming Meetings & Classes:

  • July:
    • Meeting:
      • Donna Lynn Thomas -
Patchwork Palette: Do you love the thought of using lots & lots of those beautiful prints you've been collecting in glorious multi-fabric quilts? Does the idea of taming & making sense of all those prints seem overwhelming? After a review of some basic principles about combining prints, Donna will share with you her three fabric recipes that make it a simple as pie to plan beautiful fabric palettes to sew into glorious quilts. These are nothing like your traditional scrap quilts. Donna will bring lots of quilts to illustrate her concepts.
      • Remember to bring:
        • "HOT" colored FQ's for Quilters Treasure
        • Show and Tell!
        • BOM's (and zip lock bags)
        • July Birthdays - items for Ways and Means
    • Pipe Dreams - Donna Lynn THomasClass:
      • Pipe Dreams: Friday, July 11th. The fascinating interlocking design of this quilt is deceptively complex. The blocks are simple & easy to construct. The blocks are made in pairs using a different set of prints for each new pair. Spend a fun day making your own Pipe Dreams quilt! Machine piecing & rotary-cutting experience required. It may be beds, cribs, etc. HALOS plans to bundle quilts fwe provide with the beds and cribs that they distribute. They currently have 400 children in 176 open cases in the Tri-County area. All resources provided to the children stay with the children. Each year HALOS provides approximately 400+ twin beds and 200+ cribs. Additional information is available on their website: www.charlestonhalos.org or by contacting andrea@charlestonhalos.org If you have a quilt for HALOS, please bring it to the guild meeting or let Louise Schmidt know and she will arrange to get them.
