Upcoming Meetings & Classes:

  • August:
    • Meeting:
      • Ice Cream Social! -
The August meeting will give us an evening to sit back and relax with a big ice cream sundae. We are all looking forward to seeing and hearing some tales of our members first (or very early) quilting endeavors. You are all encouraged to bring in any of these early quilting projects you are willing to share.

      • Bring in your "Patches in a Poke", three(3) completed blocks based on a simple nine-patch that are trimmed to 9 ½" (to finish at 9") put into a paper bag (or plastic you cannot see thru!). Bring in as many bags as you want, and then you will randomly draw from the bin the same amount - bring in 4 bags, take home 4 other bags. That would be 12 blocks, maybe enough to make a Halos quilt!?! But mostly it will just be a fun evening and the potential for a bunch of new wild and wonderful new quilts.

      • Remember to bring:
        • Patches in a Poke (see above)
        • 1850’s reproductions Fat Quarters for Quilters Treasure
        • Show and Tell!
        • BOM's (and zip lock bags)
        • August Birthdays - items for Ways and Means
        • Teapots for 2015 Quilter's of SC Annual Spsring Meeting
        • Halo's Quilt Donations

It may be beds, cribs, etc. HALOS plans to bundle quilts fwe provide with the beds and cribs that they distribute. They currently have 400 children in 176 open cases in the Tri-County area. All resources provided to the children stay with the children. Each year HALOS provides approximately 400+ twin beds and 200+ cribs. Additional information is available on their website: or by contacting If you have a quilt for HALOS, please bring it to the guild meeting or let Louise Schmidt know and she will arrange to get them.
