Cobblestone Quilters Guild

The purpose of The Guild shall be to foster the art of quilting, to encourage a high standard of design and technique in all of its various forms, and to stimulate an interest in these goals within the community.

Cobblestone Quilters Guild is located in beautiful, historic, Charleston, South Carolina. Our membership base covers the tri-county area of Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.

We meet the second Thursday of each month, 7:00 p.m. at:

Yeamans’s Park Presbyterian Church located at 5931 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC.

Meetings consist of a brief business session, a program, Show and Tell, and other fun activities. The guild hosts a bi-annual Quilt Show.

Only members who are current with their 2014 dues will receive or have access to the newsletter. Click here for the 2014 Membership Form. Show your guild card at Hancock's and many of the local quilt stores for a 10% discount.


Board Nominations

The nominating committee will be meeting soon and will present the nominations at the October meeting. Please step up and get involved with your guild. The positions are not hard, and believe it or not, they are not that time consuming. Email or phone Wendy or Linda (or use the contact page) if you would like to be included in the fun. If anyone has any suggestion for filling the positions, please contact us.


Coastal Carolina Fair - October 30th through November 9th

Coastal Carolina Fair
Volunteers are needed to help staff our table at the Coastal Carolina Fair.  The dates are October 30th through November 9th and sign-up sheets will be available at the next meeting (or contact Pat directly OR through the contact page).



Beach Retreat 2015- January 23rd -26th

The Final Beach Retreat payment of $92 is due at the October guild meeting.

Shirt Design ContestT-Shirt Design Challenge: Members are challenged to come up with the 2015 Beach Retreat T-Shirt Design! The winner will receive a free T-shirt. No more than 3 colors are to be used in the design. Submit designs by November 30th at the meeting, through the contact page, or by contacting Lisa Keenan directly.

Quilter's Day Out

MysteryThe final Quilters Day Out will be October 11, 2014 from 9 am until 3 pm at our normal guild meeting location. The project for this day is a Mystery Quilt. Check out the Quilter's Day Out page for hints 1-7. ***You are always welcome to attend our Day Out and work on your own project if the planned activity is not to your taste – the more the merrier! There is a $5 charge to offset the cost of the facility rental. 


Community OutreachHalos

We are still collecting quilts of any size for the HALOS project. The year is quickly coming to a close and we only have THREE meetings left in 2014! Let’s get those sewing machines going and show HALOS what we can do. It is such a worthy cause! Please bring your completed quilts to the meeting and give them to either Louise Schmidt or Martha Ferguson or contact Louise Schmidt directly or through the contact page. Click here for More info

Newsletters changes for 2014

  • After the February meeting, those not current with their dues will no longer receive the newsletter until they become current.
  • Newsletter: There will be no paper copies of the newsletter mailed via the postal service in 2014. Newsletters will be sent via the Email service, "Mail Chimp". If you don't receive your newsletter, PLEASE check you spam box.
